About the Temenos Institute --
The
word “Temenos" comes from the Greek language and refers to the sacred
precinct where drama was performed for the purpose of what we today
would call spiritual, emotional and psychological transformation.
Founded
in 1976 as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, Temenos Institute
Inc. provides separate, yet related, services to the public, including
the following:
An outpatient psychiatric clinic, licensed by the
State of Connecticut, offers individual, couple, family ad group
psychotherapy on a sliding fee scale.
The Fairfield County Jung
Society at the Temenos Institute sponsors lectures and courses about
the work of C.G. Jung and Jungian application to a number of topics, as
described in this brochure. The events at the Temenos Institute as
well as adds a social dimension for those who enjoy meeting informally
with others to share their interest in the thought and work of C.G.
Jung, Jungian analysis is available through the Executive Director at
Temenos Institute.
A Pastoral Care and Counseling Training
Program (for those in Pastoral settings) at the Temenos Institute.

in parish ministry, synagogues, chaplaincy and divinity school
education. Information is available through the training Program
Coordinator.
Workshops, lectures, films and courses are offered at Temenos. All are open to the public, and we are particularly delighted to welcome new attendees and participants; whether professional in our field, a student or educator, or someone purely interested in Jungian studies.

Dear Friends of Dr. Jung, What would Dr. Jung have thought of the Internet? I would pose this question to all of our visitors of this site, as I
find it a fascinating one -- certainly as there is now a growing global
sharing of collective experiences and access to a new universe of
ideas. Welcome to the Temenos Institute website. In addition to being the
only state licensed psychiatric service in the Fairfield Connecticut
area, the Temenos Institute is a global center for learning and study
based on the work of C. G. Jung. We have some news, of course -
* Steve Buser, M.D., of the Asheville Jung Center, Asheville NC, is pioneering two global web events of interest, sourced from Zurich. Contact Steve via his site for more information. www.ashevillejungcenter.org

Telesphoros ". . . points the way to the gates of the sun and to the land of dreams." The Stone of Telesphoros at Jung's Bollingen Tower, which we visited on our 2007 Temenos Trip
- Browse through the Album of our 2007 Temenos trip to Zurich, Vienna and Prague on the 100th anniversary of the first meeting of Jung and Freud. We learned a lot, had a great time and have the photos to prove it. If you have a copy of Aniela Jaffe's Memories, Dreams, Reflections, pick it up again. In Chapter VIII entitled The Tower, Jung himself will narrate and take you on a guided tour of his Bollingen Tower while you scroll through the photos we took during our private tour of Jung's Bollingen retreat.
